This shower has glass tile which is real glass. So if we used wall mount hinges, the pressure would crack the tiles, every time. Using Pivots puts the weight o f the door on the curb which doesn't have glass tiles. The holes for the top pivot were 1/2" through the tile at the grout line and then 1/4" into the cement. Anchors and screws into the wood helped prevent cracking the tile. But no guarantees.
